NIGHT SHELTER

The housing crisis in Pembrokeshire has resulted in a waiting list for emergency accommodation. So in response to the increasing number of rough sleepers in the county, the local authority agreed to allow us to pilot a Night Shelter provision.

The shelter accommodated up to 15 people, and opened when the Council's Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) was activated. This could have been for freezing temperatures, severe wind, rain or heat. When activated, the Night Shelter opened at 7pm until 8am the following morning, occupants had

a hot meal in the evening, breakfast the following morning and access to support agencies and practical help during their stay.

In November 2025 this provision was included in the local authority's main stream provision and combined with the Assertive Outreach contract.
